Something that’s fake or a person faking something can represent: Deceit or lying.
A fear of being fooled.
Doubt or a lack of trust in whatever the fake or faker represents.
A sense that something’s not quite right or not as it seems.
Empty or invalid.
A lack of something (such as a scarecrow lacking any sign of life or humanity).
A replacement of something with something else less real, valuable, or meaningful (such as a “chocolate flavored” candy made with artificial flavor, which could represent pretending to be happy rather than expressing authentic feelings).
